Therapeutic Benefits

The therapeutic benefits of music can be traced back in time to ancient
shamanistic rituals.

Scientists across the world have proven that relaxing music alleviates anxiety,
depression and bodily pain. The nervous system which controls blood pressure,
heart rates and breathing, also reacts positively to music.

But not all music is created equally. New research [1] shows that music
created by the Universe, is proving even more beneficial over standard music.

Music Created by The Universe
For the past 30 years, computer music researcher Phil Winsor has been writing
computer programs incorporating Fractal and Stochastic algorithms to
generate musical structures. The resulting instrumental compositions are
beautiful, unpredictable and literally created by universal concepts.

Prof. Winsor is presently researching how abstract musical structures influence
brain activity (electroencephalograms) and create sonic pathways between
the mind and body to promote a healthful physiological condition. The current
research incoporates an algorithmically generated, Immersive Audio
Environment generated by MYST, a virtual musical instrument that was
synthesized using the Max/MSP graphical programming language.

In January 2005, a Ph.D dissertation by S.L. Siedlecki, concludes that hospital
patients using this patterning-music listening technique have more power and
less pain, depression and disability.

Alleviate Post-partum Depression:
"The Story of the Weeping Camel" is a recent Mongolian movie directed by
Byambasuren Dava and Luigi Falorni. It tells how a mother camel rejects her
newborn after a difficult labor. To save the hungry colt, the herders send for a
violin player, who comes playing beautiful music. Soon, the post-partum
depressed mother camel makes a complete reconciliation with her colt.
